Model Section

After holding a successful Model Railway Exhibition in 1999, a number of the society members with an interest in model railways decided to form a model railway section within the Haywoods Permanent Way society.

In 2002, after acquiring an unused room for rent in St. Paul’s Church Hall in Rugeley, the model railway group was set up. We now have a 00 gauge layout incorporating a narrow gauge 009 section which is almost a work in progress with parts of the layout subject to change or alteration as the members see fit.

We meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 p.m. except on the last Wednesday of the month when the meeting is held on a Thursday (to avoid the society’s regular monthly meeting). Members can bring their own stock to run or participate in any current modelling project or just come for a chat and enjoy company of people with similar interests.
